Imagine a princess in a dungeon, hopeless and about to end her life. She has lost her beauty with all her captor’s doing— being tortured, abused and demoralized. She has mislaid her worth as a result of cruelty and bondage.
This is what the enemy wants to do in every single person’s life including you. He wants it destroyed that you yourself will no longer recognize who you are. He wants you broken and imprisoned by your past mistakes, your insecurities and all sorts of ugliness. He doesn’t want to see happiness from your face; instead, he wants to see tears and frowns. If I were that princess, I could have given up. But good thing, my story doesn’t end in the midst of the dungeon.
As the damsel in distress, being held captured, see in your mind’s eye a knight in shining armor bracing the roaring wind to the rescue; or in a DC Universe, think about A hero like Superman on his way to save his love interest Lois Lane from his mortal enemy, Lex Luther; or better yet in an animated world, an Ogre like Shrek, saving Princess Fiona from Lord Farquaad and the dragon. There will always come a time where you will encounter your Hero, your Prince. You just need to be willing to be rescued and not dwell in prison.
As with Ruth’s life in the Bible, a kinsman redeemer named Boaz came to her rescue. This man who came out of nowhere, suddenly had an interest to a foreign girl and started treating her nicely despite her past. Not only did he show favor to Ruth, he even prayed and declared blessings to her life.
A Knight’s Prayer
11Boaz answered her, “People have told me about everything you have done for your mother-in-law after your husband died. They told me how you left your father and mother and the country where you were born. They also told me how you came to people that you didn’t know before. 12May the LORD reward you for what you have done! May you receive a rich reward from the LORD God of Israel, under whose protection you have come for shelter.”
Ruth 2:11
Christ is the best example of a kinsman redeemer. He not only came as a knight and shinning armor, He came to give life and be the light of this world… to my world. And if Christ was able to give me a life worth living, someday soon, He will give me my own Prince who will redeem me from my distress. I choose to believe that the same way Boaz prayed for Ruth to be blessed, the guy that God has for me is praying for me and declaring blessings beyond my expectations.
Stage 9: The “Praying” Stage – Just as God caused Boaz to pray for Ruth, you and this person God has for you will feel the need to pray for each other. While you individually pray for one another to be blessed, God will see to it that he will be your reward, as you are to him. You will be his blessing and he will be yours. So keep praying for one another. Pray that he will have the strength to be a good leader, to respect and accept you as you are. Pray that you will be whole as you enter a relationship with this individual. As you both pray according to God’s will, He will lead you both into a great purpose and the assurance that you are on the right path.
This is a season where God will place both in your hearts the urgency to pray for one another and seek His guidance as you both enter the next stage.
There is power in prayer especially when we are asking for God’s will and direction. As 1 John 5:14-15 says, “This is the confidence which we have before Him that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.”
Pray unceasingly. Pray as if you are one prayer away from your dreams. Why give up if you know that you have a God who listens and cares for your wellbeing.
What are you praying for? Has God revealed who your Boaz is? Or are you still waiting for him to show up?
If your Boaz has no definite face yet, the best thing you can pray for is that when the right person comes, you’re ready enough to accept everything about him. It’s okay to be specific with your ideals but be sure they’re realistic. Begin praying for your future and start entrusting them in God’s secured hands. He is more concern in your everyday struggles and thoughts than the birds of the air that happen to have food daily to survive. Your life matters to Him more than you realize. Stop thinking that you’re less valuable and begin to envision you as the Princess He is willing to save… the one who is worth loving, and rescuing.
Slave mentality won’t help you. Get rid of it now. You deserve all the best in this life. You are not destined to be captured by the viciousness of this world. You are destined way beyond that. Begin to take back your standing as God’s precious Princess—secured, respected, with dignity, beautiful, and highly favored.
And as for you, my amazing Prince or someone else’s Prince (whoever you are, or wherever you are), I believe God will give you strength that will be enduring enough to provide protection, love and respect to your future Queen. God will cause you to have His Strength & Love that cast out all fear. Keep fighting a good fight of faith and never give up. Your entire generation is rooting for you. Stay in faith and believe that your prayers are not in vain. God pays attention to those who call upon the Name of Jesus and seeks His help. Be of good courage and stay strong. Though the battle isn’t over yet, rest assured that you have the victory in Christ Jesus.
So keep praying. Be each other’s prayer warriors.
Sincerely,
