Have you ever waited long enough for a miracle to happen that you got so tired and decided that you just had enough? If you already chose to give up and put your hopes down, let me tell you that you’re missing the BIG picture God has in store for you.
Sometimes God allows delays and No’s along our ways to actually fulfill his plans for us. Some things take time to happen and won’t simply take place overnight. It’s such a mystery as to how God works, but one thing is for sure, He is working behind the scene.
As life gives us disappointments, where we tend to lose our patience, let me encourage you that your story is not the end yet. Stop trying to move on with your life, forgetting those dreams you’ve longed for. Instead of seeing things negatively, see your future and dreams Waiting on the Other Side of the road.
In His Strength
Now let me introduce a very influential guy in Bethlehem named Boaz which means “In His Strength”. He is a relative of Naomi’s late husband. He owns the field where Ruth went for harvesting. This is where the story becomes more interesting.
There was a rich man named Boaz living in Bethlehem. Boaz was one of Naomi’s close relatives from Elimelech’s family.
Ruth 2:1 ERV
Okay, let me spoil it for you, Boaz and Ruth are the ultimate Love team in this story. Sorry, I just had to.
Imagine Channing Tatum (you well know who he is!!! He’s the guy from ‘Step Up’). Picture him as Boaz, then Rachel Mc Adams (the girl from the movie The Notebook) as Ruth. Let’s say God is like the writer Nicholas Sparks (only that God writes a story with a happy finale and not a grievous one). Now you have a better picture of what I’m talking about, let’s get going.
Stage 4: The “Dependency” Stage – God has already distinguished the One He wants to be part of Your story, all you need to do is to Trust Him. Long before Ruth knew Boaz, God has a plan. She wouldn’t have entered her harvest season if she did not go through her loss. It was her past that led her to her present season of harvest. Here we can see that God causes everything to work together for our good and are called according His purpose for us. (Romans 8:28). And as she entered this new territory, God has already placed Boaz waiting on the other side.
This is a season where God pre-destines everything that will take place in your life. He fixes the mess and creates a message out of it. Know that He has everything under control.
The Unnoticeable Entrance
So while Ruth was harvesting in the field, Boaz arrived.
Later, Boaz came to the field from Bethlehem and greeted his workers. He said, “The LORD be with you!” And the workers answered, “And may the LORD bless you!”
Ruth 2:4 ERV
Here comes Boaz with his grand entrance! Ruth wasn’t aware of her surroundings. She was too busy with her task that she did not even notice that the owner has finally arrived.
Stage 5: The “First Encounter” Stage – God will intend for you to cross paths. Despite how busy Ruth was, God led her to be at the right time and at the right place. No matter how far Ruth came from, God ensured that she will be at the same field where Boaz is. This only shows that God will steer your life to where He has destined for you to be. Distance is not a hindrance when it comes to the Author of life.
This is a season where God will cause you to meet the one He has for you at the right time and place.
Caught Off Guard
While Boaz was going around his field to greet his workers, He noticed someone foreign. He then asked his overseer of the field about who that young woman is and to whom does she belong to. The overseer told him all about Ruth’s hard work in picking up grain leftovers.
Then Boaz asked his foreman, “Who is that young woman over there? Who does she belong to?”
Ruth 2:5
Stage 6: The “Attraction” Stage – God will cause him to find interest in you. Isn’t this romantically exciting? First, they crossed paths and now, Boaz has noticed Ruth. He found Ruth attractive which led to his curiosity and interest. God has his ways of bringing two people together, igniting their hearts which leads into one’s spirit of enquiry.
This is a season where God opens up your eyes to see someone attractive and allows you to be interested with her/him.
Sometimes, we tend to stop whenever it felt like life’s not going the way we want it to be. But here’s what I can tell you, whenever you feel tired and giving up, all the more you keep moving forward. There’s more amazing things waiting on the other side. Just keep walking…
Sincerely,
