One Prayer Away

Today, God reminded me about the value of prayer as we face our daily battles. Sometimes, we take it for granted, thinking God can already read our thoughts so we just leave it up to him, letting him guess what we want to happen. Yes, He may know the things going on in our minds, but what if God is waiting on us to converse with Him and personally say what’s happening in us? What if the reason why we haven’t stepped out of our struggles is because, He is waiting on us to utter the words “Lord, I need you. Help me. Guide me. Lead me.”?

Remember when Jesus asked the blind Bartimaeus in Mark 10:51,“What do you want me to do for you?”. This blind man was few words away from getting his miracle. And as soon as he said what he wanted to happen, things started to shift on his request. His eyes were open, his heart’s shout was answered despite of the people around him trying to shut him up. The enemy may be trying to convince you to stay silent about your heart’s cry or desires, persuading you to keep it in your heart so it won’t be heard.  Don’t let him. All the more reason for you to pray.

What if Jesus is asking us the same thing, “What do you want me to do for you?”, will you remain silent or will you say out loud what you have been longing for to happen?

Prayer can shake grounds, move enemy’s strongholds and break every barrier that keeps God’s miracles from happening. You are one step away from a prayer answered. Now is not the time to stay silent. As Ephesians 6:18 says, “Pray passionately[b] in the Spirit, as you constantly intercede with every form of prayer at all times. Pray the blessings of God upon all his believers.”  The moment I decided to declare and take my battles in prayer and trusting that God is in control, things shifted for my favor. Same thing can happen for you. Life may not be easy but with God on your side, He will see to it that you have the strength to endure. Don’t give up, instead pray and believe that God is on the move to turn things for our good.

Pour out all your worries and stress upon him and leave them there, for he always tenderly cares for you.

– 1 Peter 5:7 TPT

What a great assurance that God cares for us no matter how big or small we have on our hands, he is willing to carry it for us. Don’t hesitate to come to God. He is waiting on us to come boldly before His presence just like a Father longing to have quality time with His children. Say a prayer, He’s listening.

Sincerely,
