Signed. Sealed. Delivered.

You’ve gone into my future to prepare the way,
and in kindness you follow behind me
to spare me from the harm of my past.[a]
With your hand of love upon my life,
you impart a blessing to me.
This is just too wonderful, deep, and incomprehensible!
Your understanding of me brings me wonder and strength.[b]

Psalm 139:5-6 The Passion Translation

Recently, I wanted to buy a book so badly and have no means of buying it. It’s a 365 devotional book by Christine Caine entitled Unshakeable. It would be a great devotional read for me as the new year starts. But to my surprise, my uncle ordered it as a gift for Christmas. He told me to expect the package to arrive around December 11 to 18 as the shipping date specified. I was too busy these past few weeks with all the activities in church and school that I didn’t even realize that the package already came and was received by my uncle. To my surprise, it has been at home for a couple of days and has arrived earlier than expected. I wasn’t even aware that my blessing is already here. Today, I got it and was so happy like a kid receiving it.

This illustration reminded me of how God loves to bless His children. There may be things that we have been praying for–needs or desires that we often fail to realize that God has already given it to us. I believe that the moment we think about our needs and desires, God is already on the move, sealing the package and delivering it to us especially if it is for our best and will glorify Him. We are already blessed. We already have the access to what we need and who can provide it.

Sometimes, we just tend not to see the blessings God  has already placed in our hands. We already have the grace that can sustain us, the healing power within us that raised Christ from the dead. We already have the mind of Christ. We already are God’s child and have the right to receive His blessing and righteousness. We already have the currency of heaven which is faith, wherein anytime we can come boldly to the throne of God’s grace and pray our petitions. We just need to activate our faith and fully trust God that He is working behind the scenes.

God has prepared a way for our future just as Psalm 139:5-6 says. His hand of love is upon our lives always ready to bless us. All we need to do is to receive and embrace His goodness, to believe that He desires to give us life to the fullest. He is the kind of Father that would enjoy pouring out His blessings and love to His kids. He loves to provide and to help us in any situation we are into. Let us change our mindset and continue to see God as a Father who has all the great intentions in His heart to bless us. God is not selfish. Instead, God is love. Believe again, your blessing is on its way, or better yet, it has already been delivered to your doorsteps. You just need to open your heart to accept it.

Sincerely,

Abby Bern
