20-22 Whatever God has promised gets stamped with the Yes of Jesus. In him, this is what we preach and pray, the great Amen, God’s Yes and our Yes together, gloriously evident. God affirms us, making us a sure thing in Christ, putting his Yes within us. By his Spirit he has stamped us with his eternal pledge—a sure beginning of what he is destined to complete.
2 Corinthians 1:20-22 The MSG
Are there any promises from God that you have been holding on to and wanting to happen? Have you been waiting all your life, believing for it to become a reality but things seem to be not taking place according to your timetable? You’ve been faithful and patient enough to wait for God’s promises and yet, He’s still making you wait a little longer?
Well, guess what? God’s timing is not our timing. His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. Actually, His timing and thoughts are so much better than ours. But one thing you can be sure about is that when God promises you something, He has already stamped it with a Yes! Meaning, He will see to it that it will come to pass, that His word will never fail. God will make sure that every promise He gives us will not become void and meaningless. God is a faithful God. He does what He says. In this, we can believe that even if things aren’t going our way, God is still in control and is working behind the scenes.
One thing I am holding on as a promise God gave me when I came here to Sweden is His Word from Jeremiah 29:5-7 (GW):
“5 Build houses, and live in them. Plant gardens, and eat what they produce. 6 Get married, and have sons and daughters… Grow in number there; don’t decrease. 7 Work for the good of the city where I’ve taken you as captives, and pray to the Lord for that city. When it prospers, you will also prosper.”
Though my process may seem slow, I know God is working on my behalf to make all He has promised in my life to come to pass. All those prophecies and dreams He has placed in my heart years back are taking place one step at a time. It may not be on the timeline I expected but God knows best. It may not be as easy as I pictured it out, but God is faithful to give me strength.
For sure, whatever He started well in our lives, He will complete it with such breakthrough that only Jesus will get the glory and praise. So never lose hope when things get hard. Don’t stop in the middle. Keep moving forward embracing every season that you have to experience. Life may be tough at times but His grace is sufficient for us to carry us through to our destiny. All those hardships and anticipation will be nothing compared to what He has in our future. Always remember, God will never fail you. His promises are YES & AMEN.
Sincerely,
