I have been a prisoner of fear and lies about who I am and what I can do growing up. My height played a huge part in keeping me from doing what I am bound to do. I have been trying to convince myself that since I’m small enough, I don’t have a voice and I can’t make an impact on this world. The enemy has been trying to trick me to stay silent because my voice is not strong enough. But these were all lies.A roar within me is finally voicing out. I will not be tamed. I will no longer be fooled. It’s not about my size. It’s about what God is able to do through me and for me. God reminded me of the reason why He created me. He gave me just the right size to slay Goliath. No giants can ever stop me from pursuing what I am created for. God wanted to show His greatness in me the same way He did with David.
God has given me an inner strength that can slay the giants, the lies, the abuse, whatever attack of the enemy. I will continue to stand for what is right. I will stand for the oppressed. I will put an end to the lies the enemy tries to throw at me and other people. Now I know my purpose, and I will stand for what I am called to do. I will serve as a voice for every woman–young and old. I will speak for the abandoned, the hurt, the hopeless, the abused, the bullied, the rejected, for those women who couldn’t even speak for themselves. This is my calling.
9-10 But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted. 1 Peter 2:9-10 The MSG
Let me just encourage you today that you are not limited by your appearance, your past, or what other people has been telling you. You are bound for something more. Who you are is all you need to pursue what God has called you to do. You can slay Goliath because the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is living in you. No weapon formed against you will ever prosper. Do not be afraid to tell the devil NOT TODAY, that he has no dominion over you because Jesus has already defeated him. He’s no match.
Remember that you are born to make a difference. You are born to change the world and make an impact. You are born with a voice so others can hear your story and be inspired by it. You don’t know how much you can do with whom God made you to be. Stop listening to lies and stop dwelling on your past. You are no longer slaves to fear. You are a child of God, a New Creation, God’s beloved. He is for you. He is protecting you. He cares for you and you are not alone.
