I was feeling a bit exhausted lately and homesick. I am in a state where I am vulnerable and weak. I went to school today thinking I was just attending another lesson, but to my surprise, as I was singing a song by Whitney Houston entitled “I Look To You” for the very first time in my vocal class, I was heart-struck.
While I was listening to the recording of me and my teacher, Helena, I can’t help but cry realizing that God has been with me all this time. He has never left me no matter what situation I am in. He has brought me this far not to leave me all hanging. God reminded me that I can seek strength and rest in Him. I had flashbacks as to how God has been my stronghold in times when I don’t know what to do or where to run to. He has never left me and has never given up on me.
Try to listen to this song and be reminded that despite the difficulties we all go through in life, God is with us. We may feel tired or almost to the point of giving up, but let this song encourage you the same way it moved me. Know that we can look to God whenever we go through our battles. He is our hope and He can help us through it all. He will give us strength in the midst of our weakness.
If you have been in a situation where you felt like you were taken for granted, or you feel like you are the underdog–the least person being given importance to, where others make you feel rejected, unwanted and unloved, know that God loves you and He sees you important. Even if other people may have treated you unfairly or hurt you in a way that scarred your heart so deep, God can heal you and set you free with His love. He can give you new beginnings and restore your joy.
In times of being weak and feeling sad, look to Jesus. Run to His arms open wide, ready to embrace you regardless of who you are and what you’ve been through. God loves you as far as He stretched out His arms at the Cross to die for you. Don’t ever think that you are alone in your battles or problems. God is with you fighting on your behalf. And the best part is, He has already won the battle and you are already victorious and blessed.
Sincerely,
