When God created us, His intention was to fill us with His Love. And since we were made in His image, knowing that God is Love, our existence is all about it. This is one of the reasons why we try to seek love and affirmation from the people around us. And because we all have flaws and shortcomings, we end up getting hurt or hurting others. The cruelty of this world has corrupted the real definition of Love. The enemy wants to deceive us that there’s no such thing as love, only hate. He wants us to experience abuse, manipulation, heartache, loneliness, and bitterness so that we fail to recognize the love of God. His intention is to make us doubt that we deserve to be loved and that we can love unconditionally.
You may be in a situation where you’ve been skeptical about love. You may be crying your heart out, struggling with pain, anger, loss or misery. Someone may have wronged you, abused, rejected and manipulated you. You may think that you’re too ruined to be fixed or you can’t trust anyone else. Know that true love still exists. Remember what Psalm 30 says “across a lifetime there is only love.” The love of Christ is all that matters–the kind of love that can turn our nights of crying into days of laughter.
5 He gets angry once in a while, but across
a lifetime there is only LOVE.
The nights of crying your eyes out
give way to days of laughter.
Psalm 30:5 The MSG
A few years back, I remember myself being so caught up in hatred, holding grudges against someone who caused me so much pain by breaking my heart. I was pushing people away to the point that I have created a wall in my heart so that no one else can hurt me. I was losing track of my joy and identity. I wasn’t so happy about life because I failed to let go. I became so tough and defensive that I failed to be compassionate and selfless. But then the moment God dealt with my heart, I learned to forgive and surrender my pain. I chose to get rid of bitterness and be filled with His love that no else can give. The moment I made a decision to let go, I began to see life in a new way. And also, instead of finding love and affirmation from other people, I chose to be secured in the love of Christ.
You may think that it’s so difficult to rise up and find joy despite your past and the people who’ve caused you trouble, but know that there is hope. You can be healed and redeemed from the bondage of hatred, bitterness, pain, and sorrow. Know that no matter how ugly or hurtful your past is, God can turn them into a beautiful testimony for others to hear. He can make all things new again. He can set you free from your past and give you a future beyond you have hoped for.
God can restore your heart and redeem you from hurt, misfortunes, abuse, and whatever ugly experiences you had in the past. Learn to surrender everything to Jesus. Forgive those who caused you wrong even though it’s hard, it will be for your benefit. Allow the love of the Father fill your heart and renew you. Let Christ release you from anything that will hinder your joy and breakthrough.
Sincerely,
