Joy in His Victory

The king finds joy in your strength, O Lord.
What great joy he has in your victory!
You gave him his heart’s desire.
You did not refuse the prayer from his lips.

Yes, you made him a blessing forever.
You made him glad with the joy of your presence.

Psalm 21: 1-2, 6 GW

God desires for us to experience His Victory. He doesn’t want us to stay defeated. He wants us to experience great joy. He wants to grant us our heart’s desire and our prayers. He longs to see us blessed rather than grieving. And usually, it’s so hard for us to accept this reality because of the lies the enemy tries to feed our thoughts.

The enemy wants us to picture God as someone who punishes and easily gets angry every time we commit sin or give in to our flesh. He wants us to have this mindset where God turns His back whenever He is displeased with our hearts. He wants us fooled, thinking God is distant and only pays attention to our wrong actions so that He can punish us.

We get surprised when we receive blessings despite of what we did or who we are. We always think that we are not deserving of such favor that we’re having a hard time accepting the reality that God is Love and is not Angry. God wants to bless us beyond our heart’s desires and imagination. He longs for us to experience life to the fullest. Let not the lies of the enemy occupy our minds. Instead, let us believe that God is for us and not against us. He desires for us to be glad and take delight in His presence.

Today, as you begin this day, expect for God’s love and favor surround you. Believe that God longs to bless you rather than withhold things from you. He wants you to experience Joy rather than sorrow.  He can make things beautiful despite how ugly it seems to be. Depend on His love and stop condemning yourself. Receive His Grace and Christ’s Righteousness. You are called to be His children and you can come boldly before His Throne of Grace.

Sincerely,

Abby Bern
