Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.
1 Peter 5:7
Has life become too overwhelming that you don’t know what to do or who to run to? There were moments in my life where it felt like my problems were unending… where it felt like the enemy is hitting me one punch after another. He will do everything to shut us down. The bible describes the devil’s scheme as ‘sneaking around to find someone to attack’ (1Peter5:8). He’ll do whatever it takes to make us feel discouraged and tired. He’ll give us situations that will make us wonder, “why does it have to be so difficult?”.
When things go south, it’s so easy for us to waver and lose hope especially if we focus on our problems and allow ourselves to get sidetracked by the attacks of the enemy. But always know that God is in control. He is our shield and our fortress. He wants us to always run to Him and focus on what He is able to do. He will be the one to take care of our troubles. He’ll give us the courage that we need in our most difficult times.
With all the things we have to face everyday, we can be caught up in our situation that we forget the real meaning of surrender–to rest in the hands of God in the midst of chaos. We won’t succeed surpassing them all unless we enter God’s presence and seek His rest. We cannot do everything on our own. We need a Saviour to carry our cross. We need a God to fill us with love and strength in our most uncomfortable state. We need to keep our eyes focused on our goal–to seek God and His kingdom. Doing so, all the things we need and are praying for will be provided for us.
31 Don’t ever worry and say, ‘What are we going to eat?’ or ‘What are we going to drink?’ or ‘What are we going to wear?’ 32 Everyone is concerned about these things, and your heavenly Father certainly knows you need all of them. 33 But first, be concerned about his kingdom and what has his approval. Then all these things will be provided for you. / Jesus
– Matthew 6:31-33 GW
Jesus reminds us in the bible to lay all our burdens before Him so He can carry it for us.
28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:28
We need to remember that there is a God who cares for us despite the weight of this world. He cares enough for us that He is willing to carry our load of worries, struggles, sickness, pain, responsibilities, needs and even the stain of our past. Let God carry your heart and unload it to Him. Things will be a lot easier if we let Jesus be on our journey. Stop trying to do life on our own. God cares and He loves you more than anything. He will carry your worries as you carry His love. Fear has no room in your heart.
Sincerely,
Abby Bern
