5 Yes, my soul, find rest in God;
my hope comes from him.
6 Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.
7 My salvation and my honor depend on God[c];
he is my mighty rock, my refuge.
8 Trust in him at all times, you people;
pour out your hearts to him,
for God is our refuge.
Psalm 62:5-8 NIV
When most of your nights seem restless and your days look hopeless at it can be, where do you run to? Some people would run to alcohol, worst to drugs. Some would choose to go to a spa while others seek serenity in their bedroom. When things around us seem stressful and getting out of hand, we all have our “Run To’s”, our “Quick Escape”.
When fears of life and worries try to hunt you down, what do you do? Do you seek courage from God’s Word or do you embrace every word the enemy throws at you?
It’s only a matter of choice whether we let life’s trouble swallow us alive or we choose to stand firm and be brave enough to face them. But do know that facing life on your own is totally helpless. You need a God in order to survive. Life isn’t always easy. Life can be such a drag at times. This is why we need God to be our Refuge.
Do know that in the midst of troubles and difficulties, we have the Mighty Fortress whom we can run to. We can find Rest and Hope in God just as David says in Psalm 62. We can come before God as we pray to Him and seek His help. Also as we decide to listen to His Word through Church Podcasts and read the Bible or any devotional materials, we allow our faith to become stronger. The more we seek, the more we find such strength that comes only from the Lord.
We don’t have to hide away or find other ways to give us comfort in times of our turmoil. Simply allowing the Holy Spirit, our Comforter to give us peace will secure our hearts, knowing that we have a God holding us in the palm of His hands. As long as you remain in Christ, you will be Unshakeable. No schemes of the enemy will ever prevail.
Depend on the Lord in every situation, surrendering all you’ve got. Trust Him no matter what is going on or how difficult your circumstances are. Don’t be afraid to pour your heart out to God the Father who loves you dearly. He cares for you to the point that He gave His Son Jesus to save you. His grace is sufficient for you in times of weakness.
Find Rest in Christ alone. Fear not but be very much confident that He is with you and will get you through your storm. Run to the Father who’s willing to protect you and cover you from the chaos of this world.
Sincerely,
