What Validates You?

There’s a certain extent in life where you just don’t know if you can still hold it all together. You try your best to graciously face your circumstances with a smile and keep moving forward. But all you ever think of is to just give up. All you wanna do is to stare at your situation, thinking ‘if only I can pause this for a while and have a break from all its adversities, then I’d be happy’.

There also comes a time where you question yourself of your worth… why some people treat you less than what you deserve. All you ever wanted was to be respected and accepted… to be treated as someone valuable but all you get is their second best. You’re always considered as an option rather than their priority.

Well, if that’s you today… Maybe it’s time to change the way you see life and focus on the One who actually gave it to you? If you look at life as terrible as it is and depend on others as to how to make yourself feel valuable and loved, then you won’t be completely happy and satisfied. The more we look at our situations, the more we get discouraged. The more we seek self-worth from others, the more we’d feel worthless. How about changing the way we see things and directing our focus? I have learned along the way that true validation and life security can only be attained through God and His Love.

People may disappoint you. Circumstances may break you. But if you realize how much God loves you that He was as even willing to spare His own Son for your sake, wouldn’t that be a great reminder that the God of the universe loves you more than anything? That He cares for you? Your life matters and you are worth more than the birds of the air. Focus on His love. Get your validation from Him. See your situation in the eyes of faith. He is holding you with His hands. He’s never letting go and will surely direct you towards your destiny.

Begin to see yourself a royalty loved by a King, then you will see that the things around you are nothing but a thing. Remind yourself daily of who you are in Christ. Don’t let your circumstances or other people define who you are and what you’re meant to be.

Sincerely,

Abby Bern
