A Walk To Your Harvest (Part 2)

So Naomi and her daughter-in-law Ruth, the Moabite, came back from the hill country of Moab. These two women came to Bethlehem at the beginning of the barley harvest.
Ruth 1:22 ERV

Walk of Endurance

It was the beginning of the harvest season when Naomi together with Ruth, her Moabite daughter-in-law arrived to her hometown, Bethlehem. They came all the way from Moab with an estimated walking distance of 293 Kilometers or mostly likely 60 hours straight travel time. Imagine how far it took for them to enter their new beginnings but still they chose not to give up.

Stage 2: The “Starting Over” Stage – God will lead you to your new beginnings. God will not allow for you to remain in a situation of defeat and brokenness. He will give you comfort, strength and the will to face your day with so much hope. If you are in this situation, remember that you are one step closer to your Bethlehem (future). God is about to do something great that will make you forget of your Moab (past).

This is a season where God will heal your wounds and make your heart filled with His love before anyone else does.

‘One day Ruth, the Moabite, said to Naomi, “I think I will go to the fields. Maybe I can find someone who will be kind to me and let me gather the grain they leave in their field.” Naomi said, “Fine, daughter, go ahead.”
Ruth 2:2 ERV

Survival Mode

Since both of them have no means of income due to their great loss, Ruth decided to work in order to survive. She went out on the field to harvest grain leftovers. In case farmers would drop grains unintentionally, she is there to catch after them. So basically, in a modern point of view, she focused on working for a living and putting her family as her priority.

Stage 3: The “Equipping” Stage – God will establish you as a person and will keep your goals straight. Before a wonderful love story began in Ruth’s life, God gave her the determination to work for a living. In relation to your life today, God wants for you to be made whole, established, purpose-driven and goal-oriented. As God allows circumstances to mold you, He gives you wisdom to live your life according to His ways. He will lead you to an established career and teach you how to prioritize things in life.

This is a season where God allows you to grow as an individual before you become dependent of someone else.

Have you ever been in this kind of situation where it felt like life’s going against you? I myself have been in a condition where it felt like my world is falling apart… so many bills to cover, my dreams seem to be miles away from reality and too hopeless to survive my adversities. But God made a way. He led me to my own Bethlehem and brought me to the right field.

He is not finished yet with your life especially when it’s seems like everything is collapsing. Remember that He is the greatest Novelist and this is only the 2nd part of His story. He is about to write more Chapters for you to read…

So never settle at Chapter 2.

Sincerely,

Abby Bern
